Flatten a PDF

Upload a filled PDF form and flatten it so the fields are no longer editable.

Your file is never uploaded — no account, no server round trip.

How it works

  1. 1.Choose a filled PDF that still has editable form fields.
  2. 2.FillOnce flattens it in your browser — the values stay, the fields become static.
  3. 3.Download the flattened PDF — nothing was ever uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'flatten' mean?

Flattening bakes the current form field values into the page content and removes the editable form fields, so the answers can no longer be changed and the PDF looks the same in any viewer.

Does this upload my PDF anywhere?

No. Flattening happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

My PDF has no form fields — why can't I flatten it?

There's nothing to flatten if there are no editable AcroForm fields left. If you haven't filled the form yet, use Fill PDF first.

Need to reuse the same information across many forms? Create a free FillOnce vault to store it once, encrypted with your key, and fill forms automatically. See all free tools.
